Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently cited, however her short time in the city did not last long. Brugel was raised in Courtice near Oshawa in Ontario. She wanted to become professional, however due to an explosive increase in her height, she outgrew the dance partners she had. Brugel was the sole Canadian of the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
